The Rev. Gina M. Finocchiaro- Interim Senior Pastor

Gina brings much energy to Wolfeboro and Arts on the Edge with her arrival. Music has always been a spiritual expression for Gina, who enjoys singing individually and in choirs of various genres. Gina, also harbors a great love for poetry and literature, nature and dogs! She is passionate about ministry in this emerging and renewing age of the church, and has served United Church of Christ congregations in Connecticut and Maine before arriving at First Congregational Church, UCC of Wolfeboro.

Deborah Hopkins – Artistic Consultant

Debbie Hopkins has been a Wolfeboro resident for over thirty years. She has been a production potter and teacher, has served on the board of The Governor Wentworth Arts Council and is currently the vice-president. Fifteen years ago she was a cofounder of “First Night Wolfeboro,” which continues to be the only annual First Night in New Hampshire. Having retired from committee work last year, she still volunteers with the giant puppet parade! In 1999 she chaired a sculpture committee for the Arts Council, which brought a bronze sculpture to Cate Park in Wolfeboro in 2003. In 2000 she created the Town of Wolfeboro Time Capsule, which will be opened in fifty years. Also in 2000, she was designated Wolfeboro’s “Citizen of the Year” for her work in the arts. She is chairman of the fine arts festival, “Artists in the Park,” a one day event in August, which has been an annual event in Wolfeboro for 31 years.

Nancy Langfeld – Executive Director

While living in Philadelphia, Nancy was the Program Coordinator for Abington Arts Center, Assistant Music Director at WMMR Radio, and public relations specialist for Youth For Understanding and several international rock bands. She was also the publisher/editor of three different national rock music fanzines. Nancy also has twenty years experience in the field of education.

Debra Moore – Commissioned Minister for Christian Nurture

Deb Moore received her Masters in Religious Education from Andover Newton Theological School and certification as a spiritual director from the Mercy Center. Passionate about the way in which faith interprets and forms our actions, she is an advocate for raising awareness about domestic violence in faith and secular communities. Prior to coming to Wolfeboro five years ago, Ms. Moore served the United Church of Christ in southeastern Massachusetts

Elizabeth Nordbeck – Resident Scholar

In her writings, lectures and work as a resource to national and international church bodies, Beth Nordbeck offers insights into the historical roots and precedents of today’s trends in American religion. Her interests range from the roots of Congregationalism in
New England to ecumenism and new religious movements. Her recent books address denominational consolidation and expansion in the 19th century and the history of Congregationalism in New Hampshire. In 2002 she published a history of the Massachusetts Council of Churches and “O God Tender and Just: Reflections and Responses after September 11, 2001.” An ordained United Church of Christ minister, she is co-editor of Prism, the theological journal for the denomination. She joined the faculty in 1990 and served as dean for eleven years.

Toby Twining – Artistic Director

Toby Twining moved to New York in 1987 to work with modern dance choreographers, who wanted the sounds of a new choral music. In 1990 he formed the vocal ensemble Toby Twining Music, which performed nationally and abroad, and recorded two ground breaking CDs—Shaman (BMG Classics, 1993), and Chrysalid Requiem (Cantaloupe Music, 2002). Twining’s instrumental works include Satie Blues, recorded by avantgarde pianist Margaret Leng Tan (Uni/Point, 1997) and 9:11 Blues, recorded by Matt Haimovitz (Oxingale/Artemis 2002). Twining’s next CD, based on Barrymore Award winning music from Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice, is due for release on Cantaloupe Music in 2010.
